Introducing the Student Employment Handbook!
The SES Handbook is a comprehensive guide designed to support both student employees and their supervisors throughout the employment journey.
This publication includes policies and procedures, student employee and supervisor roles and responsibilities, as well as best practices relating to on-campus Student Employment at UC Merced. The publication also includes information on mandatory trainings as well as resources for addressing situations that may arise in the workplace.
It is the responsibility of supervisors to make sure that their student employees are aware of the policies and procedures pertinent to their on-campus student employment. Student employees are designated as Professional and Support Staff with Casual Restricted Status. The terms and conditions of student (non-academic) positions are governed by PPSM Policies.
We encourage student employees and supervisors to familiarize themselves with the content in this publication and refer to it as needed. The goal is to provide appropriate support and guidance to ensure student employees have a positive and fulfilling experience while working at UC Merced.
