Micro-Internships are virtual, short-term, paid, professional assignments that are like those given to new hires or interns. Unlike traditional internships, Micro-Internships can take place year-round, typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off. 

• Student Success Internship Program: 

The Student Success Internship program funds 30 unique undergraduate internship positions tied to campus projects. The interns participate in a virtual or on-ground, 8 month-long internships and receive a stipend up to $3,500. These positions will be posted in mid-August and the internship begins in early Sept. The Community Engagement Center (CEC) will continue providing virtual service opportunities to all UC Merced students. For more information please check the CEC website and Instagram page (@ucmercedcec) for the most updated opportunities. 

• UC Merced Community Engagement Student Fellowship (CESF): UC Merced students will be selected to serve as fellows that will focus on voter engagement and voter enhancement across campus. The fellow will work alongside the CEC and Government & Community Relations to engage the campus in online forums with local candidates. Selected student will receive a $500 stipend through Compact Campus after completing 50 hours of service. All students are welcomed to apply, including DACA & Non-DACA recipients and Formerly Incarcerated (FI) students. 

• Projects with Purpose: UC Merced students will complete virtual community-based projects specifically designed to help small businesses, non-profits and community agencies overcome social and economic challenges created by the current COVID-19 health crisis. Just launched this month. Funding will be awarded through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships as a student stipend and will be added to your financial aid awards. Students can view open projects by logging in to Handshake.
